So, you’ve been doing your skincare routine. Hooray! No matter where you are in your life, this is an incredible foundation you’re building towards healthier skin.**Cue my happy dance**
Every morning and every night you show up for your skin with a few steps to keep your glow in check. Are you getting the most out of this time? Are you seeing the results you want? It’s completely understandable to get caught up in the action, just another thing off the lengthy to-do list, and miss making it worth your time. I want to give you some small ways you can shift in your skincare routine to make it more effective!

ISSUE: It’s easy to just hit the surfaces of your face: chin, cheeks and forehead.
SHIFT: Make sure you are being thorough. Your fingertips are your best friend when cleansing effectively. Get in around the edges of your nose, make sure you are going all the way to your hairline and under your jaw as well. Always rinse with a warm wash cloth to open those pores and get a mini exfoliation.
PRODUCT: Rose hip + Green Tea Cleanser. Rich plant oils help to remove dirt and oil without leaving your skin dried out or stripped.
ISSUE: This is such a misunderstood product that often times in a pinch it’s the product that gets left out.
SHIFT: Never skip your toner. Anti-inflammatories, pore tightening properties and anti-bacterial oils help to keep breakouts and redness at bay. Never skip this product for a more effective skincare routine. Also, stick it in the fridge and spray throughout the day to combat summer sweating breakouts.
PRODUCT: Chamomile + Tea tree Toning Mist. Refreshing and soothing for more balanced skin.
3. Specialty step
ISSUE: We get caught up in our routine and forget to listen to our skin. Just because you’ve always used this exfoliant, serum or mask- do you need it? How is your skin responding?
SHIFT: Take the seconds while your toner is drying to observe your skin. Trouble shoot it: Are you experiencing black heads? Maybe a quick clay mask on the nose. What about excessive dryness around the nose? Apply moisturizing serum/ mask. Dark spots or fine lines looking more prominent? Try a vitamin C serum. Lots of redness? Take a break from exfoliating.
PRODUCT: Papaya + Vitamin C Serum. This gentle exfoliating serum helps to lighten dark spots and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
ISSUE: We rush through this step.
SHIFT: Move away from a drive by moisture application and take this time to stop and reflect. Use the slip of the moisturizer to massage your face for a few seconds. Reflect on how the aroma makes you feel and take a few deep breaths. This quick massage will help relax the muscles in your face, reconnect you to your body and stimulate good circulation. Every time you encourage good circulation in your face, your skin cells are nourished helping to provide healthier glowing skin.
