What I really think of aging
There’s something beautiful about knowing that so many of the lines across our faces are from expressing and emoting some of the richest emotions that make life worth living. That being said, so many signs of aging are actually preventable or easy to reduce the appearance of once they’ve arrived.
Let’s talk about some of these simplest ways you can slow the physical appearance of aging through lifestyle shifts, at home routines and during treatments.

Lifestyle
While lifestyle shifts are not the easiest, they are some of the most effective ways to reduce the appearance of aging on the skin.
Avoid stress and irritants
Now, I’m not just talking about emotional stress. While frequent raised cortisol levels can cause increased signs of aging; I’m also talking about things that put extra stress on your skin. Many synthetic ingredients irritate and create a stress for your skin that can result in an increase of aging signs. Sticking to natural and plant based ingredients can reduce the inflammatory responses that synthetic irritants can cause.
Internal moisture
Anytime your cells are not provided with the moisture they need to function properly, your skin responds in kind. Both internally and externally your body needs moisture to continue synthesizing collagen and holding its good structure for that youthful bounce back.
Sun exposure
Your skin needs sun. However, only about 15 minutes of direct exposed sun exposure daily (which includes car time). Be sure you’re using a physical sunscreen 25+ SPF to bounce that UV light right off your skin, to avoid the breakdown of collagen leading to wrinkles, increased redness and hyperpigmentation spots.
Home routine
At home, there are small things you can do to help reduce the appearance of aging.
Never go to bed with dry skin
While you sleep your skin repairs itself. Making sure that you are getting the sleep your skin needs and providing it with intense moisture so it can repair effectively.
Use some tools
Gua sha and jade rollers are effective to help reduce puffiness, lift and brings good nourishing circulation to the areas of your skin that have been looking dull or have fine lines.
Exfoliate
Gentle regular exfoliation paired with rich moisture helps to keep the skin free from build up that gives us aged textured skin. Some gentle exfoliation techniques include using a warm washcloth to gentle remove your cleanser morning/ night and using an active exfoliant like my Papaya + Vitamin C Serum.
Treatments
Many of the ingredients used throughout my treatments stimulate good collagen production. Also, I can often times pin point what’s putting stress on your skin and offer instruction on how to use your tools at home. Each facial gently exfoliates leaving your skin soft and deeply moisturizes providing a supple feel.
Add ons
These treatments can be added on to an facial treatment depending on your preferences.
Facial Gua sha
Ancient Chinese practice to decongest skin, improve blood circulation, reduce signs of aging, clarify for breakouts and decongest sinuses. During this treatment a flat stone is used to oxygenate the skin with gentle sweeping motions. The lifting techniques help to tighten skin by stimulating collagen production while the detoxifying movements will clear the complexion and smooth texture. This sculpting treatment can be added on to any facial treatment.

The truth
There’s no turning back the clock. However, more youthful looking skin is truly a bi-product of healthy skin. Making these simple shifts can truly change the appearance of your skin from wrinkles to even tone.
